Our Practice PhilosophyMoore Orthopaedics was founded in 1995, dedicated to providing quality orthopaedic care to the Wilmington community. When
you call our office any weekday between 8 AM and 5 PM, you will speak
directly to one of our friendly staff, who can answer your questions or
arrange to have you seen promptly. There is no voice mail
menu to navigate. We believe that your orthopaedic problem is
important enough for you to see a physician, not a physician's
assistant, on every visit.
We try hard to avoid long waits - your time is as important as ours.
(Our patients frequently complain that they didn't have a chance
to finish their magazine article before we were ready to see them.)
After HoursAfter
regular office hours, a 24-hour answering service will contact the
physician to respond to issues that may arise at night and on weekends
or holidays.
Our Physician Robert
M. Moore, M.D. grew up in Wilmington, and graduated from New Hanover
High School, class of 1968. He attended college and medical
school at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. His
orthopaedic surgical training was also at Vanderbilt University Medical
Center. Dr. Moore returned to Wilmington in 1981, where
he has been in orthopaedic practice since. He became board
certified in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1984, and is a Fellow of the
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr.
Moore believes strongly that conservative, nonsurgical
treatment is often the best approach for most orthopaedic
conditions. Whenever surgery is the better alternative, Dr.
Moore, with 25+ years of surgical training and experience, augmented by
continuing education programs, can provide this option as well.
He is a member of the senior attending staff of New Hanover
Regional Medical Center and the Cape Fear Orthopaedic
Specialty Center, where orthopaedic surgery is performed with state-of-the-art facilities and staff.
